The Team

Editorial Board

The Editorial Board is responsible for managing, writing, and editing the articles represented in The Meducator, whether they be submissions or staff-written pieces, alongside the rest of the team. Every piece goes through a rigorous editing process, where the editors delve into grammar, syntax, sentence structure, flow, and context to produce a quality article.

Graphics & Design 

The Graphics & Design Team is responsible for the visual contents of each issue of The Meducator, and ultimately its branding and aesthetics. Our team members, each with their own unique artistic backgrounds, collaborate with one another to produce the one-of-a-kind journal that is The Meducator. We create high-quality work, all the whilst recognizing the responsibilities that follow the representation and knowledge translation of health-related content through art and graphic design.

Video 

The Video Team is responsible for producing videos in support of The Meducator's publications as well as covering other health-related topics through translating peer-reviewed literature into short and easy to understand videos appropriate for all knowledge levels. We also aim to connect and share knowledge between students, researchers, and medical professionals within our surrounding community through video interviews.

Meduevents

MeduEvents manages on-campus presence, coordinates launch events, and fosters internal community at The Meducator. From McMaster Club Festival to internal socials, the team ensures vibrant engagement, emphasizing diversity and team bonding. You can follow us on social media to stay updated on launch parties, conferences, and more!

Medufinance

MeduFinance plays a crucial role in ensuring financial vitality. By collaborating closely with Editors-in-Chief and Senior Advisor, they revise the annual budget, secure funding from various faculties, manage reimbursements, and drive fundraising initiatives. From crafting sponsorship packages to applying for McMaster-based funding, MeduFinance is vital towards sustaining excellence on The Meducator.

MeduCollab

MeduCollab’s writer program offers a wonderful experience, in which undergraduate students are paired up with a mentor to guide them through the writing process. The program focuses on developing academic research and writing skills. With the guidance of experienced and qualified Meducator staff, mentees will be creating either an opinion piece or a critical review to be featured on the Meducator’s website, and potentially the next issue of the Meducator! MeduCollab also hosts engaging and interactive workshops to refine writing skills and gain extensive exposure to current research being done at McMaster or in the community.

MeduPromo 

The MeduPromo Subcommittee aims to increase The Meducator’s online and on-campus presence. The team manages The Mediator’s social media platforms (ie. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter), creates engaging and informative visuals to get people interested, and organizes on-campus promotion events.
